Trial production of a thinner iPad mini with Retina Display and a A6X processor is reportedly underway with a rumored release date of March 2013.

Macotakara relays a Chinese ZOL report that claims "according to my inside source, iPad(5th) may be released in March, 2013."

A rough translation:

Source told that, design of this new iPad will be like iPad mini in detail, and be thinner and lightweight. (The expectation comes to have a small 4mm in height, 17mm in width, depth 2mm). To convey a different article, trial production of iPad mini (2nd generation) has been started. LCD display is 7.9 inches, it (326ppi) 2048 x 1536 pixels, it seems that will be equipped with a A6X processor such as iPad (4th generation).

Its recently been speculated that Apple may be moving to a semi-annual release cycle for its products which would see the iPhone and iPad receive one major and one minor update each year.

What I hate most about Samsung is that their users like to go see review on other devices (mostly apple) and keep saying "Samsung is better, Samsung is better, Samsung is better"

Are you guys dumber than you look? First, Retina has the highest pixel density the human eye can discern, so any "improvement" wouldn't be visible. And the iPhone 5 has 44% higher color gamut to the point where it has 100% of the Adobe sRGB gamut and the black levels are MUCH improved to any previous iPhone. I don't get why Samsung uses AMOLED. The colors are not accurate, just read any review. The brightest settings is barely acceptable and therefore battery life is shit. Samsung could use its OWN PLS (similar to IPS, but better) display technology and perhaps improve on the iPhone. Well, maybe it can't, since they continue to insist on using AMOLED. I'd love the bigger screen size of most Android phones and there are a few things I love about Android that I don't get with iOS. At the moment, that is. I am a screen whore, though, and if Samsung came up with a PLS-sporting Galaxy S IV with a 5" display at ~ 300ppi, I'm there.
