According to MobileToday, details are being finalized ahead of the availability of the MacBook on Orange this summer.
The operator has tested the laptops with its mobile broadband dongles and is understood to have made a volume commitment with Apple.
The laptops will not be free, given their high cost, but will be heavily discounted for customers that commit to a two year mobile broadband contract.
Senior Orange officials are likely hoping this arrangement will lead to a distribution deal in which future MacBooks would have built-in mobile broadband.
Another possibility is that this deal is actually for the rumored netbook or tablet Apple is said to be releasing this summer.
