Apple has reportedly made further cuts to its orders for the iPhone 5c as customers continue to choose the iPhone 5s over the plastic 5c, reports UnwiredView.

C Technology, who was the first to report iPhone 5C production cuts, says Apple still continues to reduce orders for its contract manufacturers and suppliers. Protek (Pegatron) has seen its 5C orders cut by 75%, from 320K a day in October to 80K now, while Foxconn’s Zhengzhou factory is now churning out no more than 50K devices a week.

Apparently, production of the iPhone 5c has been so slow that there is some speculation that Apple could discontinue the device; however, C Tech says that's not the case. Apple's production plans for 2014 include the iPhone 5c well into the year but at lower quantities.

In China, Dixons is reporting that 78.6% of iPhone sales are for the iPhone 5s versus only 21.4% for the iPhone 5c. That's 3.68 5s smartphones for every 1 5c.

I can't believe how many people actually waste an extra hundred dollars just for a finger print unlock feature which is actually less security on your device as it's more easily hackable than a standard passcode. Does anyone actually care what's useful in the phone than just saying I bought the most expensive one. Battery no better camera is just different not better or worse and there is an A7 chip but when u use the phones next to each other they move just as fluid. Apple tried to do the right thing and not b looked at as over priced but it looks like people treat them more like cars. Saying u spent the most is more important than what u spent it on

At least we don't exaggerate over new phones with the same size because that's the shit we care about, what if many people struggled with purchases like me, that's why they made a fingerprint scanner, plus the camera has more than looks and a flash and aperture with sensor upgrade, and unlike speeding up a chip it bring desktop architecture to mobile and had motion chip inside it! What is so same about it again?

5C for the price of the 4S or 100€ more is ok, but not 100€ less then the 5s - thats a joke. In Germany the price is 4s 8GB 399€, 5c 16GB 599€, 5s 699€. 5s should be 499€!!! then a step of 200€ is justified..

They will not offer a larger screen. Esepcially after all the "fragmentation" claims aimed at Android. A larger screen should have happened a year ago. Its too late for Apple now.

I like it that they kept it at 4 in. That way, I can hold it with 1 hand. I think 4.7 in. is still ok, but I hate it when a smartphone is 5 in.

I own a IPhone 5C and love it. I don't care if it is a year old technology. The quality is good and that is all I care about. U don't have to have the highest end phone. Plus, it is cheaper for me.

Instead of cutting orders down, all they have to do is reduce the price to $199 or below with no contract and unlocked.

Fyi it's old if apple was using 3g version of polycarbonate but this one they used doesn't glare much! Old as new huh!
