Apple CEO Tim Cook Says He Does 80% of His Work on an iPad and So Should Everyone Else

Apple CEO Tim Cook tells the WSJ that he does 80% of the work running the world's most valuable company on the iPad.

"There's no reason why everyone shouldn't be like that," Mr. Cook said in an interview discussing the company's new partnership with IBM to develop applications for business and enterprise. "Imagine enterprise apps being as simple as the consumer apps that we've all gotten used to. That's the way it should be."

The companies are planning to create over 100 apps for various industries. The first apps should be available alongside the release of iOS 8.

Cook tells the WSJ that laptops still outnumber tablets by three-to-one in business environments; however, that may change if IBM and Apple can create apps that let workers do their jobs in "fundamentally different and fundamentally better" ways.

"You can envision the day when everyone in every enterprise has one," said Cook.

First off what failure happened if ipad and iPhone are recommended, even the macs, just look at how many are used. Let's hope it stays that way, IBM did this because they're expanding where people hear about the products or whoever is too poor for anything.

Lots of trolling here so no thanks, but to answer a few inane responses: Lots of people do work on their iPads, and it's become integrated into many businesses, including medical and government. I just don't know how someone can claim to do 80% of their CEO work on it. philme you may like your Surface Pro but you're in the minority. Microsoft is laying off 18000 people. For a start. Lots of lies about defective iPads. The warranty is probably the best in the industry, so calling BS on claims that people have just bought them and they are failing.

How is this possible? He talks into it for hours on end, or uses a keyboard? I don't know any tech executives that accomplish this, personally.

The problem user when companies start using iPads is that they can't keep buying iPads every freakin' 3 to 5 years because Apple may stop supporting that model. Unlike LAPTOPS which can be used for a longer time once it's been purchased. I would hate for my company to keeping upgrading after a few years because of slow downs and apps no longer be compatible with my model. If Apple wants enterprise users they need to stop making these produce go obsolete within a few years.

If they made the devices better and more reliable sure but I recently bought an iPad for myself and hubby and I use headphones for audio and already on both units the speakers have failed and the headphone jack failed on mind so all they are good for now is paper weight!!

Well guess what Kathy? You must really abuse your iPad as I have several that my toddlers throw around and drop repeatedly and they never break, but guess what? Your iPad will be fixed for free if you just take it to your local apple store! Amazing but true.
