These are instructions on how to jailbreak your iPhone 6 Plus, 6, 5s, 5c, 5, 4s on iOS 8.0 - 8.1.2 using TaiG for Windows...

If you aren't already at iOS 8.1.2 we suggest upgrading to the latest firmware using iTunes. You can find download links for iOS 8.1.2 here. We've also posted instructions on how to update the firmware of your iPhone. Please note that you must update using iTunes rather than Software Update. If you used Software Update you should do a backup then restore to iOS 8.1.2 using iTunes.

Step One
Create an iClarified folder on your desktop and download the latest version of TaiG into the folder. If your download is a zip file then extract the archive into the same folder.

Step Two
Tap Settings from your Springboard then select Touch ID & Passcode. Turn Passcode Off if it is enabled.

Step Three
Press the Settings button at the top left to return to the Settings menu. Choose iCloud from the Settings menu then select Find My iPhone from the iCloud menu. Ensure the Find My iPhone switch is the Off position.

Step Four
Connect your iPhone to the computer via a USB cable, launch iTunes, and perform a manual backup. It is very important that you remember to backup your device before continuing as you could lose your data if the jailbreak process does not complete successfully.

Step Five
Double click the TaiGJBreak executable from the iClarified folder on your desktop to launch the application.

I also had the same problem with running TaiG. It was because I had iTunes 12.1 installed. You need iTunes 12.0.1 installed. I ended up uninstalling a bunch of apps with Apple in their name, iTunes, and Quicktime. I then installed iTunes 12.0.1 from Apple: https://secure-appldnld.apple.com/iTunes12/031-08059.20141016.FrPFF/iTunes64Setup.exe. After connecting my iPhone 6, running TaiG worked.

I've been here for hours! Lots of problems came up but fixed them, except this one, right at the end of the process... My jailbreak fails -1004, which says: "This problem is caused by your computer. Please change to another computer and try again." I just have this one! Why..?

I've never seen a jailbreak not released for MAC? What's up? I have no desire to purchase Windows & install on Bootcamp just to do a jailbreak? :(

You do realize this is Jailbreaking, not Unlocking ! It is generally not related to activating your SIM card. Did you try the SIM card on another phone ! You should probably consult with your provider (no need to mention the jailbreak).

No, this is not normal. An error must have occurred during the installation of Cydia. Sorry, but restore and apply again.

This is normal when you run Cydia for the first time after jailbreak, it will take less than 30 seconds updating the filesystem then it will respring your iphone.

Yes. It should not be a problem. The thing is, you can't update OTA while you are jailbroken. So after you apply this jailbreak, you will not be able to update again OTA, but you can always restore with iTunes.

Benefits of jailbreak, tweaks is the reason, things like F.lux, Barrel, and there's a great call recorder I use, different fonts, plus themes to completely change the way iOS looks, you get full control over the iOS device. There is a lot out of different things to try. It's definitely worth the doing it,

Hi! A few questions - What are the risks in jail-breaking? Can you then use eg. find my iphone? Will it affect any other apps or security? And just to be clear on the benefits - it's about getting around the default controls? Thanks so much! I want to get my hands on a recommended app, but I'm not clear on what I'm being exposed to. Pip
