A man trying to smuggle 94 iPhones into China by strapping them to his body was recently caught by authorities, reports the Huffington Post.
The smuggler was trying to travel through the Futian Port. His "weird walking posture, joint stiffness, muscle tension" made officials suspicious and he was sent through a metal detector.
The man was trying to bring the iPhones into China from Hong Kong where the devices are cheaper and easier to get a hold of. In China, an unlocked iPhone 6 goes for around $872 compared to $649 in the U.S.

I think he is trying to get something to spend.
Just let him be, don't you know that this is better for him than to steal from someone?

I don't think the guy was traveling by plane, right?
Everyone knows if you are boarding a plane, you need to go through screening or metal detectors right?
Don't you think 94 iPhone would sound the alarm on metal detectors?
Or is the guy after getting his luggage, went to the bathroom and taped all the iPhones to his body?

As far as China was concerned he was traveling within China, and he is a Asian male with valid identity info. If he was a middle eastern person, or even western person that they have never seen before it might have started differently.

Drug trafficking net billions of dollars and you use your time and resources to stop a guy who will get a couple hundreds. Really smart.

China exports drugs, not import, and those that move drugs don't travel through an airport like a normal person.

Go watch Drugs Inc.
Drug trafficking happens everywhere and anyway.

Unless there's cocaine in the batches of iPhones, I deem this raid stupid.
