Apple Removes First Generation iPad Mini From Its Website and Online Store

Apple has removed the first generation iPad mini from its website and online store. The smaller 7.9-inch tablet was first introduced in October 2012 and released in November. It featured similar specifications to the iPad 2 including an Apple A5 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM.

Notably, the iPad mini was the last non-Retina iOS device available through the online Apple Store. With a price of $249 it wasn't a great buy considering the iPad mini 2 cost just $50 more and features a Retina display, A7 1.3GHz processor, quad-core graphics and double the RAM.

The iPad mini can still be found in Apple's Refurbished Store for $209; however, you'd still be better off purchasing a refurbished iPad mini 2 for $249.

If any Apple product is 2 years old or more then it becomes free.

No. It was a POS when it came out. It was out with the 4th Gen ipad. And the mini was an ipad 2. Underpowered lame screen. It couldn't even compete with the nexus 7.the ipad mini 2 was a much better idea same specs as the big ipad. Just like it should be.

Or you didn't know how much it sold as good as the regular sized iPad did! Decent powered screen that went beyond me us 7. The mini was slight in different specs and has different size support within apps. Nexus is what same is. When was the last time it was mentioned for example? When was the last time it outsold iPad from every generation from mini to the regular size? What new did it do?
