Check Out This iPhone 7 Parachute System Concept [Video]

Posted December 6, 2015 at 6:06pm by
Check out this iPhone 7 'Parachute System' concept by Sonitdac which envisions a future device that is immune to accidental drops.

The concept is likely inspired by a recent Apple patent which details how auto ejecting shock absorbers could be used to protect your iPhone when dropped. You can learn more about Apple's proposed 'Active Screen Protection' solution by clicking here.

Take a look at the Sonitdac concept below and let us know what you think in the comments...

Very cool! Do it! I love my iPhone without a case, but am too clumsy to let my iPhone run around in it's birthday suit.

All because someone wasted time putting effort into his own idea? What does this concept hurt? Why a security prison? It's like coming up to come one who makes muffin from cookie dough and say the same thing to him. If you don't like it and ignore it, what damage will it do?

I think the idea is cool, but like some has said it will only add additional cost and weight too the phone.

A very stupid idea. It would add weight, complexity and cost, and would not be foolproof. Why not have it eject a tiny folded parachute?

The concept will not have a music jack so the video is incorrect.

That's pretty funny. However you would need some rather fast servos to engage the co2

Lets be real, the 7 won't have anything new that's "S" worthy

Let's be serious. We can't jump ahead of time and judge things.

Just terrible, effort to make a pointless concept video waisted.

How about an iPhone case with seat belt and airbag.

Why don't they just make an iPhone with rubber edges. Problem solved

My guess about exploding is that the pieces would fly all over the place even in your face all over no matter how small they become. What's next with these so-called ideas? An iPhone will turn into a drone and become an airplane?

A portable bomb? What happens when it explodes?

That is great if the phone only drops back down. If it drops face down, it will propel it harder into the floor!

Some of these concept videos are so ridiculous.

A phone in a case with a string tied to it while wrapping around the wrist makes more sense. That way your phone still won't fall without wasting CO2. Think of it like the wifi remote.

The physics of this make no sense. The speed and force of the fall could not possibly be stopped by tiny air jets.
