Samsung Leaks Galaxy S7 Video Revealing Wireless Charging and Waterproofing

Posted February 16, 2016 at 7:16am by iClarified
Samsung appears to have accidentally leaked a video that shows off the Galaxy S7. The video was posted to its Indonesian launch site.

A banner across the top of site lists the released Galaxy models thus far with a question mark for the new model expected at MWC. However, at the bottom of the page an unlisted YouTube video is embedded alongside the line, "Samsung Galaxy S7: Get Ready for #TheNextGalaxy".

In the video, Samsung demonstrates wireless charging and some level of waterproofing. Take a look at the ad below. The company is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy S7 at 1pm ET, Sunday February 21st, at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

That's not wireless charging?! You still have to plug the magic saucer to the outlet and when you lift the phone away the magic saucer the charging is cut. I was waiting for the real wireless charging like a wifi signal that you can still use your device while charging.

This is possible when electricity is transfered wirelessly by RF Signal.

Well at least you won't have issues with the charging port. Never happened to me but I know a few iPhone users that say the charging port won't recognize their usb anymore. It wears off. That's one positive.

Wireless charging in the car with a big saucer to put it on? It's not convenient. Wireless at home, yes but being mobile means convenient. My neighbor has a phone that is wireless charging, two battery replacement later as phone battery don't last as long when charge too quickly can really suck. Put that saucer in your pocket is like carrying a tea pot just to charge your phone. You have to wait and leave it on the saucer to use it.

Whats the point of wiress charging if its even more limiting than a cable? I use my phone in rain and it survived so far.

The Galaxy S6 Edge and Note 5 charge wirelessly faster than the iPhone does using a cable, so I do not find it limiting.

Jacob, if you turn on airplane mode, use iPad's power brick or MacBook's power brick (any model), there's your light speed charging for iPhone.

Looks like it has some super zoom and flash function. In the ad, the mum took a photo from the stands but the photo looked like it was just 2m away. Yeah right...
