I couldn’t recommend CCC enought, saved my bacon countless times. Now I have a prob which is I have an SSD 512Gb+the old 1 tb standard drive on my MBP. How can I use CCC to clone both in one go? Is it possible. Right now I clone each one to a diferent external drive, so I Need 2 drives and to steps of cloning to back it up.. :/

Alternatively, use Stellar Drive Clone to create an exact replica of Macintosh HD. It has got Disk Cloning, Volume Cloning, Imaging, Restore and Bootable USB support. Also clones BootCamp partition to EXFAT.

If only looking for a disk image CarbonCopy is great but as a free solution it supports old versions of OSX. I prefer SuperDuper, has a free solution and supports the latest OSX.
