LG has announced that it will fix a problem that caused the UltraFine 27-inch 5K display to malfunction when placed near a router.
The company says that after February 2017, new displays manufactured will feature enhanced shielding.
We have been made aware that the LG UltraFine 27-inch 5K display (model 27MD5K) may experience performance issues caused by signal interference when a Wi-Fi access point is positioned behind the display within a distance 2 feet (0.6 meter). Changing the location or positioning of either the router or the display should resolve the issue. Customers continuing to experience issues with their UltraFine displays are advised to contact their nearest LG customer center for prompt service. LG apologizes for this inconvenience and is committed to delivering the best quality products possible so all LG UltraFine 27-inch 5K displays manufactured after February 2017 will be fitted with enhanced shielding.
If you are considering the purchase of the UltraFine 27-inch 5K display, we would recommending waiting at least a month to make sure you can one of the new models. Apple's 25% sale on the display ends March 31st.
If they know the problem why they keep selling the defective model? I was waiting for 1 week for a feedback from LG and they always told to contact Apple since it was not an hardware issue. Apple told me to contact LG since it is an hardware issue. Now they decide to keep selling a defective model. Shame on you Apple to accept LG as a partner. I have returned my minitor.
