The rumored new 10.5-inch iPad Pro and updated 12.9-inch iPad Pro may not ship until May-June, according to a DigiTimes report.

Apple is expected to unveil four new iPads including a 7.9-inch iPad Pro mini at an event next month. Previous reports suggested that the 7.9-inch, 9.7-inch, and 12.9-inch iPads would ship at the end of March and that only the 10.5-inch iPad Pro with bezel-less design would ship at the end of May.

DigiTimes says that first quarter results for Taiwan-based makers in the supply chain are hanging in the balance.

Vendors have hoped that at least one of the two large-size tablets, 10.5-inch iPad or the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, will be released in the first quarter of 2017 along with the entry-level 9.7-inch iPad. However, the sources said that they are now more certain that both of the planned two large-size models will not come until May-June, thereby affecting first-quarter sales of supply chain makers.

If both do not ship in the first quarter TPK is expected to see revenues drop 10% sequentially and GIS could see revenues drop 35% from last quarter.

iPad shipments are expected to reach 40 million units in 2017, down slightly from 2016.
