Early benchmarks of Apple's new MacBook Pro reveal what may be the fastest SSD ever in a laptop, reports LaptopMag.

The site duplicated 4.9GB worth of data on a 13-inch MacBook Pro in just 2 seconds. That's 2,519 MB per second. Using the BlackMagic Disk Speed test for macOS, the notebook achieved an average write speed of 2,682 MB/s. Those are phenomenal speeds.

This makes the MacBook Pro’s SSD the fastest we’ve ever seen in a laptop. We saw similar results when we tested the SSD inside the powerful iMac Pro. Now, there are third-party SSDs that are crazy fast, such as the Samsung 970 EVO, but we haven’t seen anyone put it inside a laptop yet.

The site ran other benchmarks on the 2.7GHz i7 MacBook Pro. Using Geekbench 4 the notebook scored an excellent 18055 on the multi-core test. That's 21% higher than the next closest i7 13-inch laptop, the Dell XPS 13, which scored 14180. It's 80% faster than the previous generation 13-inch MacBook Pro at 9213.

LaptopMag also tested video editing, graphics, and productivity. Hit the link below for the full report or click here to learn more about Apple's new MacBook Pros.
