Apple is said to have placed orders for connectors and touch panels for their rumored tablet device.

Taiwan's Economic Daily paper claims that Cheng Uei Precision Industry has received an order for connectors for Apple's new tablet which will ship in the 3rd quarter of 2010.

Digitimes reports that Innolux, a subsidiary of the Foxconn Group will supply touch panels for Apple's tablet, with Wintek becoming a second supplier if necessary.

Apparently Apple was forced to delay the launch of the device until first quarter 2010 while the company searched for solutions to strengthen the glass of the 10inch panel.

Foxconn's optical glass processing subsidiary G-Tech Optoelectronics will provide the glass strengthening process, Taiwan-based optical film maker Wah Hong Industrial has reportedly landed component orders, and Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) will be the manufacturer of the tablet.

Apple is expected to announce the tablet on January 26, 2010 with shipments to begin in March or April.
