Mac Studio Teardown Reveals Two SSD Slots for Upgradeable Storage [Video]

An early teardown of Apple's new Mac Studio reveals not one but two SSD slots for upgradeable storage!

YouTuber Max Tech shared one of the first teardowns of Apple's new desktop computer today.

In this video, we do a complete teardown of Apple's Mac Studio and we get it down to the core. We show off the internal components, the new copper heatsink and cooling system, the speaker, the power supply and much more!


Although you can't easily spin off the bottom like a Mac mini, Apple has located screws under the rubber footpad. Once the screws are out, it's fairly easy to disassemble the rest of the device and access the two SSD slots. With some maneuvering it may even be possible to add an SSD without removing any internal components.

It's unclear yet if Apple is using a proprietary connector for its SSDs or whether it plans to offer upgrades in the future; however, we're hoping OWC will make a cheaper third party SSD upgrade that might be able to bring down the cost of purchasing a new Mac Studio.
