Conflicting Rumors on Launch of New iPad Models This Week

Multiple sources say Apple is set to launch new iPad models this week and multiple sources say they won't.

A new report from superchargednews and confirmed by 9to5Mac, says that Apple will launch new iPad models as soon as Tuesday, October 17.

Apple is expected to update the iPad Air with an M2 chip, an upgrade from the current M1. The iPad mini is said to get an A16 Bionic chip; as well as, a fix for the jelly scrolling issue that users have complained about.


Contradicting these reports are Bloomberg's Mark Gurman and TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

In a newsletter today, Gurman says, "A new entry-level iPad, iPad Air and iPad mini are all in development with faster chips, but I don't believe updates of any significance are imminent."

Last month, Kuo tweeted, "New iPad models are unlikely before the year's end."
