Belkin to Make Battery Clip for Apple Vision Pro Headset [Gurman]

Belkin is making a battery clip for Apple's upcoming Vision Pro headset, according to a new report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

In his newsletter today, Gurman says that Apple has tasked Belkin with creating a clip that holds the Vision Pro battery. This will provide an alternative to putting the battery in your pocket when on the go.

Belkin, I'm told, will begin selling the clip alongside the Vision Pro when the headset debuts next month. Apple stores will stock the item — and, so far, it appears to be one of the only authorized accessories that will be available as early as launch day. You can bet others will follow suit in the near future, though.

Notably, Belkin is now owned by Foxconn Interconnect Technology, a subsidiary of Apple's key iPhone manufacturing partner.

Apple has announced that the Vision Pro headset will go up for pre-order on January 19, 2024, ahead of a February 2, 2024 release date. Recent reports suggest there may only be 80,000 headsets available at launch.
