To be honest in my opinion i think apple have done a pretty poor job with the 3GS, the business model of reinventing the wheel each year to re-boost interest in an existing product is one of genius, and is what the success of apple is founded upon, but it should be done by creating new innovative features, not by making it a little faster and depriving their existing customers on older versions, despite those older versions being perfectly capable (for example MMS and voice control). I aint made of money, my iphone 2G cost an arm and a leg, im a student for crying out loud not a wealthy businessman, that is a huge middle finger stuck right in my face from apple, does nobody feel the same? Things like the compass feature and the posibilities it brings are a legitimate example of a new innovative feature, it is dependant on new hardware, making it a real reason to upgrade to the new iphone, but that alone isnt enough to cut it, create further new features, don't just cut off ones for other people, ill drop dead before i go out and buy a 3GS and not just because of the principle, ive seen the load times etc, if you have an iphone already, you'd be off your tits to go out and buy a 3GS for what it is, the OS 99% of the update, and you're getting that already, dont let apple bully you into blowing a whole load more money because they took one of your sweeties away, hopefully june 2010 will bring something worthwhile this time round

The things that you say you don't have either aren't supported by the 3g or ATT just have provided service for yet just like your mms. The 3g s is the only one with the voice commands and the compass. Apple is not going to give you all those things because that is how they lure people out to buy their new iPhone.

what do you mean by activate? assuming by activate its got something to do with iphone and carriers, ipod touch users wont be affected for youtube right?

futuregator15 - June 18, 2009 at 3:11pm

Hold your horses and lets just wait until they have everything done. They say a Friday release then wait for the Friday release for the unlock. Good job Dev Team. Keep it up.

i have a couple of questions, if any could answer them i'd really appreciate it. 1) Is the quickpwn that is being released actually a windows based program? or am i waiting desperately for a mac program like an idiot. 2) I heard the 2G doesnt have the voice control feature, is this true? and if so, is it just a ploy by apple to get people to buy the 3GS, because there's no way that is dependant on hardware, it's a phone for crying out loud, if i can talk to someone through it, it can monitor my voice o.O

1) I'm guessing that it will be released for both OS's. If not Jailbird is almost done and you could use that as a last alternative

Forgot to answer 2.... lol 2) Yes that is correct only the iPhone 3gs has voice control. Not sure why. I mean the iphone 3g and iPhone 2g can both do voice control; they have a mic, and the mobile google app already does it. Personally im expecting a app from the jailbreak community to allow this to be done on the the iPhones
