If there in no jailbreak. I, my relative all will throw their iphone and use nokia phone. Steve jobs think twice before you do this. otherwise you would again go bankrupty. Steve should actually praise geo hot, dev team for their support for apple. life with jailbroken iphone it's fish without pond.
@Leeroy Seriously tell me or show me where I made any sort of racial remarks... you can't can you? Why do you think I'm white? Dude I just responded to the trolls here I'm not hatin on anyone because of race, religion, etc. If you think I'm racist that's your problem not mine.
And let's see how far Apple will get with this one... they thought they had it in the bag with the Library of Congress and look at what happened with that.
Don't you guys get it? Your all saying the same thing no jb=no apple... Let it happen. I wish JB does go away, so apple will get crippled, then finally millions (including me) will wake up from this hyptomised sleep we have all been under. We are slaves and jailbreaking is the only thing illuding us from knowing we are slaves. They are trying to take a slaves last freedom. It's time to realize it's all iLLuSi0nS, smoke and mirrors. WAKE UP, WAKE UP!!!!!!
Dear Job: When the Federal Government starts to regulate how a black turtleneck should be warn with a pair of acid-washed jeans, in particular the tuck-in part, then, maybe no jailbreak and no Apple.
keep your proprietary crap, Jobs. It was fun for a few years, but now it's just too much work to even enjoy at this point. Better fones are coming out now and I don't have to jump through flaming hoops to do what i want to do with them.
anybody that bends to apple's every need gets what they deserve. anybody else that appreciates new technology and pushing it further will hopefully man the life boats and sail for better horizons.
if anythign makes apple iphone famous more then its desgine and desire to own beside the high prices on everything its jailbreaking. You take away jailbreak you will see a big percentage of customers going down. Steve job will be so sorry he has to go bankrupt. I know 7 to 15 people in just my family cousins, nieces, uncles, aunts who will stop using iphone, ipads once jailbreak is gone ha ha h ah ha ha ha ha
well, I bought iPhone because I can jailbreak and install other things that only can use after jailbreaking..so if there is no jailbreak , I will not buy any future iPhones and will not recommand anyone to buy iPhone either.so Who will lose money in the end..when there is no jailbreak, I will switch to Andriod phones...
So why is apple so much against jailbreaking? Yes, they argue with copyright infringement, but what is the real intention here or the long-term threat for the company? Fact is: apple doesnt relly care whether iphones are factory-unlocked or not. It's the carriers who want total control of their customers. And the other Cydia apps? I'm sure that still only the minority of iphones on this planet is jailbroken, and the whole process is likely to get more complicated for the end user (avoid updates, thethered solutions etc.) and let's face it: most of the people buying an iphone are not that savvy on computers to extensively modify their devices...
nail on the head. anyone that's not even the least bit tech savvy tends to gravitate to apple and pay the (hefty) premium for not having to think about even the most minute of maintenance of their machine or phone. these people can feel like they're on the cutting edge of technology while looking stylish doing so (they're wrong, but whatever) and do nothing more than push a power button and start doing whatever they need.
and you're keep hearing more and more about this "death of the PC" b/c of the ipad and tablets. this couldn't be farther from the truth. those who use PCs to their potential always will use them. people that just need a device to go online and type out recipes or read digital books will just flock to the tablet market. these are the same people that were buying cheap E-machines PCs at best buy for 300 bucks. obviously not the mid to high end consumer to begin with.

Why don't Apple just basically sell all FACTORY UNLOCK phones instead of restricting and making the lifestyles of their buyers difficult with those carrier-locked phones?
Apple Dictators!
so , what is the REAL alternative to an iPhone that is truly open source and
has anough useful apps and easily unlockable from the carrier?
Android, Google, Microsoft..or?
The difference is I can call the carrier the next month and have my Android and any other phone unlocked (for international travel use). The iPhone is the only phone that does not allow this (Except in Europe where it is against the law to not allow unlocking by the consumer).
This is like us as kids. We ask dad for something. He says no. So we then go ask mom. The govt already deemed JB legal. Apple now goes to another branch and ask for prosecution. So where does this end? If I buy a MacBook I can only buy softwAre that apple sells? This is gonna set a really grey area in regards to precedence. And not just with the iPhone. This could be used in aftermarket parts for cars, computer software, etc. Once the line is drawn how far will it stretch?
You are wrong, when your contract expires your iPhone is still locked! So what's up with that? I said this will be end of Apple, people started to hate them more and more.
IF YOU BREAK YOUR CONTRACT THEY DONT COME AND GET THE PHONE BACK....EVERY PHONE IS LOCKED TO THE CARRIER YOU PURCHASE IT FROM BUT ATT WONT GIVE YOU THE UNLOCK CODE FOR AN IPHONE BECAUSE APPLE WONT. THATS WHY APPLE/ATT HAVE SUITS AGAINST THEM FOR HAVING A UNFAIR MONOPLY ON THE IPHONE.
Anyways, Apple needs the jailbreaking community to learn what features people want and what features to add to iOS, Apple has only been copying features already available in the jailbreaking community.
