Netflix Raises US Prices: Premium Now $26.99, Standard $19.99

Netflix is raising its subscription prices, increasing the cost of its standard and premium streaming tiers for users in the United States.



The company updated its official Plans and Pricing support page today to reflect the new rates. The entry level Standard with ads plan now costs $8.99 per month, up from $7.99. This tier allows users to watch and download content on two supported devices at a time in 1080p, though some titles are locked behind a paywall and require a higher-tier plan to access.


The ad-free Standard plan is also getting a price increase, rising from $17.99 to $19.99 per month. The top-tier Premium plan now costs $26.99 per month, up from $24.99, and includes 4K Ultra HD video, HDR, and spatial audio. It continues to support streaming on up to four devices simultaneously and downloading on up to six devices.

Subscribers who share their accounts with individuals outside their immediate household will also see pricing changes. Adding an extra member slot now costs $7.99 per month on the ad-supported plan or $9.99 per month on the ad-free tiers. The Standard plan supports adding one extra member, while the Premium tier allows up to two.

This is the second time Netflix has raised prices of late. The company previously bumped its prices in early 2025 after a stretch of subscriber growth. Netflix hasn't said what's driving this latest increase, though past hikes have been tied to spending on content and new features.

The platform has continued expanding beyond traditional streaming, with a push into live events and video podcasts, along with interest in larger studio deals. Earlier this year, Netflix engaged in a high profile bidding war before ultimately declining to match Paramount's $110 billion Warner Bros. Discovery deal.


The increase follows a broader trend across the streaming industry, with services like Prime Video, Paramount+, and others also raising prices in recent months.

Netflix has not said exactly when existing subscribers will see the new rates reflected on their billing statements. However, new customers signing up today are subject to the updated pricing immediately. iPhone and iPad users who manage their subscriptions through their Apple Account should receive an email from the App Store ahead of any billing change.
