Apple today announced updates to Apple Creator Studio, adding new AI-assisted tools and app integrations across Final Cut Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Logic Pro, Motion, Compressor, Final Cut Camera, Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Freeform.
The updates are available today as a free update for existing Apple Creator Studio subscribers. New subscribers can sign up for $12.99 per month or $129 per year in the U.S., with a one-month free trial.
Final Cut Pro, Motion, Compressor, and Final Cut Camera
Final Cut Pro for Mac and iPad is getting new AI-powered workflow features, including Generate Captions and Edit Detection. Generate Captions uses on-device AI to transcribe audio and place subtitles directly in the timeline, with controls for font, color, position, and animation. Edit Detection analyzes rendered video and splits it back into original clips on the timeline, making it easier to revise an edit or create shorter highlight clips.
On Mac, Final Cut Pro is adding Auto Mask, which uses on-device AI to identify elements such as skin, hair, sky, foliage, and clothing without manual tracking. Apple says Auto Mask works alongside Magnetic Mask, while an enhanced Match Color improves color matching across different shots. Advanced Trimming lets editors fine-tune incoming and outgoing frames one at a time.
Motion adds native support to keep vector graphics crisp at any resolution, along with Distribute Layers for faster setup of complex animations. Compressor adds an Immersive Metadata Viewer, 180-degree Apple Projected Media Profile support for Apple Vision Pro, and Anaglyph View for Stereoscopic Video Preview.
Final Cut Camera, Apple's free video capture app for iPhone and iPad, now supports Clean HDMI Out for sending a clean video signal to external monitors and recorders. It also adds expanded ProRes support, including ProRes LT, and an option to disable digital zoom so captured frames stay at full optical resolution.
Pixelmator Pro, iWork, and Freeform
Pixelmator Pro is being integrated more deeply across Apple Creator Studio. Final Cut Pro users can send a selected frame directly to Pixelmator Pro, edit it, and bring it back into the timeline. Keynote, Pages, and Numbers users can also open an image from a document directly in Pixelmator Pro, with edits saved back into the document.
Apple is also adding vector shape generation in Pixelmator Pro, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers. Generated shapes can be refined and saved to a dedicated collection for later use. Advanced image generation and the Content Hub are also expanding to Pixelmator Pro, letting users create and edit images with natural language and browse a curated library of photos, graphics, shapes, and illustrations.
Keynote is adding new transitions and builds, Pages on iPhone and iPad is adding Auto-Hyphenate and Show Invisibles, and Numbers will let users hide or color-code individual sheets. With iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, Freeform will add shape generation, the ability to open an image in Pixelmator Pro, Dark Mode, folders for boards, and drawing support on Mac.
Logic Pro and MainStage
Logic Pro for Mac and iPad is getting a rebuilt Chord ID feature with improved harmonic analysis, including support for extended chords and inversions even from distorted guitars or slightly out-of-tune pianos. Apple says the improvements help Session Players respond more quickly to chord changes.
Apple is also adding a new Producer Project for Logic Pro that reveals the complete session behind "Shoulda Never," produced by Khris Riddick-Tynes. The project includes the multitrack recordings, MIDI performances, and vocal takes from the session.
For Logic Pro and MainStage, Alchemy is getting a new granular sync mode for sound design, accompanied by a Granular Alchemy Sound Pack with loops and presets built for the mode. Beat Breaker is also expanding across Mac and iPad with new filter and pan modes, plus randomization controls for creating fills and rhythmic variations.
