Apple has seeded the sixth developer betas of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 for testing as the company continues to refine its upcoming smartphone and tablet operating systems.
The new test builds carry version number 24A5418b and arrive just a week after Apple pushed out the fifth round of betas to its developer channel. That previous update introduced refreshed Liquid Glass icons for several system apps, expanded voice customization controls for Siri, and brought new search settings to the Home Screen.
iOS 27 introduces a major overhaul to the iPhone experience built heavily around Siri AI and Apple Intelligence. The digital assistant utilizes a more conversational interface capable of drawing on personal context and interacting with active onscreen content. Apple is also testing a dedicated Siri mode inside the Camera app for Visual Intelligence, alongside expanded generative tools in Photos, Safari, and Shortcuts.
Beyond artificial intelligence, the operating system includes structural and visual refinements. Users can manually adjust the transparency of the Liquid Glass interface to improve readability, while an updated CPU scheduler helps apps launch faster and improves overall battery efficiency on supported devices.
Registered developers can install the latest firmware over the air by navigating to the Software Update menu in the Settings app and making sure the developer beta option is turned on.
