I don't understand why would the white one be more complicated to manufacture. Isn't it just a color difference? Does anyone know?

Frank, the fact that the materials probably are usually dark and they need to figure out how to make them light could be the problem. Maybe it has something to do with that weird white thing up top too...

YEA YOUR PROBABLY RIGHT. THAT WAS MY NEXT QUESTION. WHAT IS THAT INDENT AT THE TOP OF THE PHONE AND WHY DOESN'T THE BLACK ONE HAVE IT?

The "weird" white thing at the top of the phone is the proximity and the ambient light sensors. It's just camouflaged in the black model...
