Yahoo is planning to offer an update to their Messenger application that will enable video chat between Desktops, iPhones and Android smartphones.
During a briefing with Reuters on Thursday, David Katz, Yahoo's VP of Mobile revealed that the mobile Messenger video calling app will work not only over a WiFi connection, but over a carrier's standard wireless network.
The iPhone app has not yet been approved; however, Apple told Reuters in a statement that "we do allow apps on the App Store that support video calling on WiFi and 3G networks."
If approved, this may be the first application to provide Desktop to iPhone video calling.
