I think it would be best to wait for the 4gs to be released before releasing the untethered ios5. Just to be on the safe side. BTW, thank you DEV-Team for the time and effort.

K so just tried to update my factory unlocked iphone to 5.0 with the NO_BB method and it says not eligible for build. I am on 4.3.3 with 4.3.3 shsh (reason I am using NO_BB method) and ive tried with modified host server and unmodified host server and got the same result both times. Anything I am missing?
All I really want to do is update to 5.0 to see how it runs with the JB and then I am downgrading back to 4.3.3 because an untethered JB is more worth it to me.

Yep I've been running 10.5 for about 1 1/2 months too but updated after this post. I'm guessing the dev team still has a few bugs to fix, but I wonder if my old upgrade method would work, update stock and disconnect from iTunes 15 sec. After it says "restoring iPhone firmware" and using recboot. Worked on AT&T iPhone 4 4.0.2 to 4.1 and keeping 01.59.00

thank you dev team. but it has a problem with seconds count.
it's very slow, which lead to recovery mode instead of DFU mode.

I was having that problem too with the slow seconds count. What worked for me was to plug in and be turned off. Launch Redsnow and start the process, where the seconds count down.
Hold down the Home button and then hold down the power button for a few seconds. Look closely at the iPhone, release the power button as soon as you see any sign of life on the iPhone, but keep the Home button held down until Redsnow advances to the next section and starts jailbreaking.
Oddly, I can now reboot and remain jailbroken with my iPhone 3GS

No iPad 2 again. This sucks! I've been stuck on 4.3.5 (came with that) for months :(

upgrade it and enjoy ios 5 until its jailbreak released. do not stuck with 4.3.5 coz you won't get a jailbreak for it ever. :)

There is a tethered jailbreak for 4.3.5 not for 4.3.3

so the custom firmware feature is essentially a stock firmware without the baseband update? meaning that after restoring to the custom FW you still need to run redsn0w over it to JB it?

The unlock is needed along with the jailbreak as well for users with the 06.15.00 baseband, please.

yep it would be very useful to know whether the untethered jb for ios5 is going to come out soon, if i remember correctly it was posted that they already found 5 exploits to jailbreak ios5, untethered.
Now to know if the jb is already done and/or they're waiting for 4s release or what.
