Griffin has announced several third party Lightning cables that will go on sale next.
Griffin’s new cables with Lightning Connector are affordable charging solutions that are built to resist kinks and tangles. The cables work perfectly with Griffin’s family of PowerBlocks and PowerJolts as well as Apple’s USB power adapters, or plug into a computer's USB to sync with iTunes. The cables offer connectivity to users of all new Apple devices featuring the Lightning Connector, including iPhone 5, iPad mini, iPad (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation), and iPod nano (7th generation).
Cables: ● 4’ coiled USB to Lightning Cable ($24.99) ● 3 meter USB to Lightning Cable ($29.99) ● 2' USB to Lightning Cable ($16.99) ● 3' USB to Lightning Cable ($18.99)
I've been using the apple connectors for years now. I can tell you that the peeling is because your pulling the cable out by the cable and not grabbing the actual connector.
