Amazing iOS 7 App Switcher Concept [Video]

Amazing iOS 7 App Switcher Concept [Video]

Designer Jesse Head has posted a seriously impressive iOS 7 app switcher concept video on YouTube.

The switcher he envisions would allow apps to maintain a 'semi-active' status even when not in use.

The benefits of such a system are seen in the switcher concept video, where the user is able to switch between the Mail, Haze and Flipboard apps, whilst watching them update live. There are more benefits then simply live updates however. For example, the combination of full app previews, the large icon and name presented underneath each app, make it much more obvious which app you’re switching to, and prepares you for what to expect when revisiting that app.

His concept also allows for prime positioning of toggles such as music, brightness, etc and the ability to search.

Yes, I realise spotlight provides system wide search already, but that’s the thing: it searches system wide. The benefit here, is that you’re searching for apps and apps only. This will ostracise apps from other general data, allowing them to be found much quicker. Plus, you’re seeing a live tile at the same time. In a way, this is similar to launchpad for OS X.

Check out the video below or hit this link to see it full screen on your iPhone.

I like the originality of Apple. So I'm saying I don't like this, because this reminds me Andoid too much.

Auxo ripoff? :S

sucks because you have to swipe much more to get to older tasks. I have 10 apps in my switcher = 10X faster :)

What do you use for it? In my opinion, it is an absolutely great idea as it is actually evolving the concept of the Jailbreak Tweak: Auxo. How many times has Apple stolen an idea for iOS from the Jailbreak Community? I think that this is actually a very neat feature and I don't think that Android's is 100% live preview.

I like the idea, seems usefull

No. Just no. That would be stupid. Why you ask? Well because it would be too much like android.

Inspired by HP Touchpad? The Apple should sue itself!
RightOn - March 22, 2013 at 12:29pm

Yeah, amazing concept. Kind of... lifted, from WebOS ;)
Dave - March 22, 2013 at 8:14am
So I'm guessing he's had a go of webOS then, and realised how good it is.

If Apple Hired jailbreak Developers
If Apple Hired jailbreak Developers - March 22, 2013 at 7:23am
Can you imagine how amazing Apple will be if they hired jailbreak developers they make the iProducts so amazing. This is a bit like auxo switcher just blown up and made to run in the background
pkmaximum - March 22, 2013 at 4:54am
This design is far from practical in contrast to our current switcher. Having the switcher the way it is, we see a grid view of the multiple apps that are "running." With this switcher, we can only see on app at a time and have to scroll each running app. Live Previews as cool as they are, require more processing power, draining the battery quicker.

But Apple should hire this guy immediately, Steve Jobs would do it... But Tim is so scared to change anything, Samsung is going to be on top in a few years the way Apple's innovating
RightOn - March 22, 2013 at 12:31pm
Never happen Samsung is stuck with Android, to stupid to move away from it.

That's awesome. Except: Apple is too dumb to do it. They're too caught in their own greedy pride to accept outside input. Or if they do accept outside input, they will claim it entirely for themselves and claim it was all their idea.
