A new photo has leaked which allegedly shows the front panel of the iPhone 5S on the assembly line.
Gforgames notes that the device pictured in the photo is a match for a previously leaked one from a different source. This suggests that they are indeed real and that the iPhone 5S may have moved into production.
We would have expected for the iPhone 5S to be released at the same time with iOS 7 (whose launch is pegged for “sometime this Fall“). However, in light of the above evidence (and assuming that it’s real) Apple might release its next iPhone before summer’s end.
9to5Mac adds another photo of the front panel to the fray which can be seen below.

Above all this, the battery needs a loooooot of improvement. It needs to improve even more than the 5. This is another reason for a wider phone. Hopefully they can pack more juice JFK it. This is the only thing I HATE about the iPhones is its crappy battery. Yes, even the 5 is just a slight improvement.

Into it. Pack more juice into it.

Apple is very much in need of producing a bigger screen iPhone with better ppi... If Apple will do that believe me the sales will again reach the top and so as the index....

I agree Majid. Definitively boost sales. Perhaps the 6 will bring us that or perhaps they will offer at least 2 size options. One wider of course than the actual 5. Maybe they'll surprise us and instead of an S series they will also upgrade the handset in the early fall.

Why bother .......

I seriously doubt that the 5S will be released with anything other than iOS 7 on it.
Fall starts September 22, so that would be consistent with last year's release cycle and less than 3 months away.

Dude, it's as wide as iPhone 5;D

I agree! It does look wider than iPhone 5. I am not sure that's because of the angel of the picture or other reason. I hope that's the real deal of a larger screen iPhone 5 (or 6).
I hold the Galaxy S4 on my hand today and put my iPhone 5 side by side. I would be easily to get 4.7" by just getting the iPhone 5 slightly wider.
I hope Apple give us a choice this year.

Kline1 you're right. In my perspective it does look a little wider than the 5 as well. I'm glad apple brings out only one phone out every year and each time it's either a physical improvement or a software and internal upgrade. Unlike those others that bring out 2 or 3 failures a year. Lol. I can't wait for this one. Looks exciting. Slightly wider. Love it!!!

Even if its not wider I'm still going to love it because its apple and I love apple and they do great stuff. Plain and simple and nothing wrong with that. Like sticking to a sports team even when they loose. I'm not a fair weather fan. They do great stuff. Even though the iOS7 is a little boring but they perfected the features others have been passing by.

I've been waiting for them to change that ribbon cable. Now I can upgrade with the confidence that my phone will be future proof. I'm going to smash my iPhone 5 now just so I'm ready for the new 5s.

This is bull. I just bought the iPhone 5, and I specifically asked about this ribbon cable. Now mine is obsolete.
Does anyone know where I can get a ribbon upgrade?

It's better to get the "S" version of an iPhone because all the problems from the original version are eliminated, e.g. The iPhone 4 antenna issue.
1
Jack - June 25, 2013 at 7:27pm
The antenna issue was present on the s model also. That's why the 5 is anodized aluminum and bot stainless steel. Anodized aluminum is not conductive.

Actually there's a lot to be said for the S models. With the non-S models there is an exterior change but only very minor improvements elsewhere. Hardly any new features other than the cosmetic. With the S apple refines the physical design and correct and mistakes they discovered, but mostly they improve the specs and introduce new features. I'd say that was more interesting and more important. I buy the S models only.

Raul - June 26, 2013 at 4:25am
Exactly. I feel the same too with all the 'S' models. They bump up the camera, processors, battery issues, wifi issues and any other that was with the non-S models.

Is it just me or in the picture in the assembly line, the phone on the left have a bigger screen than the one on the right? 4.3" iphone?
