T-Mobile U.S.A. is launching free global data in late October, according to a new promo ad spotted running on T-Mobile.com.
Droid-Life first reported the news after a Shakira fansite posted an image that featured the artist in what appears to be a T-Mobile ad. The copy reads, "Now your data plan has a passport. Global data coverage in over 100 countries at no extra charge."
Engadget and Droid-Life also spotted a promo running on the official website which reads, "The world is your network at no extra charge. T-Mobile's nationwide data is going global. With coverage in over 100 countries. Coming late October."
A qualifying postpaid Simple Choice Plan and capable devices required.
Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for more details once they become available. T-Mobile is holding an event in Bryant Park, NYC where Shakira is performing and details on Uncarrier 3.0 will be announced.
