Eric Schmidt Posts 'Converting to Android from iPhone' Guide

Google Chairman Eric Schmidt has posted a guide on 'Converting to Android from iPhone'.
Schmidt posted his guide to Google+ saying, "Many of my iPhone friends are converting to Android. The latest high-end phones from Samsung (Galaxy S4), Motorola (Verizon Droid Ultra) and the Nexus 5 (for AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile) have better screens, are faster, and have a much more intuitive interface. They are a great Christmas present to an iPhone user!"
Notably, Schmidt compares the switch from iOS to Android to the switch from PC to Mac.
Like the people who moved from PCs to Macs and never switched back, you will switch from iPhone to Android and never switch back as everything will be in the cloud, backed up, and there are so many choices for you. 80% of the world, in the latest surveys, agrees on Android.
At one point Schmidt was actually on Apple's board of directors; however, when Google became a direct competitor he had to resign.
At the time, Steve Jobs said, “Unfortunately, as Google enters more of Apple’s core businesses, with Android and now Chrome OS, Eric’s effectiveness as an Apple Board member will be significantly diminished, since he will have to recuse himself from even larger portions of our meetings due to potential conflicts of interest. Therefore, we have mutually decided that now is the right time for Eric to resign his position on Apple’s Board.”

I'm so tired of this subject and all u guys who gives a sh*t what other people use or think i love all 4 of my Apple devices and thats it, i can careless of what others think or use!!!! DONE DEAL.
I used android once and it's the same thing like before! I compared speed to my iPhone 5 and it beats s4! I switched after a week with s4, never looked back!
And you sir are yhe new troll trying to judge looks like you would judge a book by its cover! Ios 7 has real texture with neon colors and it's flat, plus notification and control center (which does more than androids yet doesn't look like it) are seperate compared to it!
I believe you are wrong about it and that iOS could run on all other devices but Apple would not pimp there OS to a device they didn't built that was not built especially for iOS and wont work as good as Apple wants it to. Apple design their devices to work perfectly with Apple OS!!!
Current Android is not bad but it is not enough attractive to switch from iOS. I don't know why android team is not innovating in android design, smoothness, etc. All android updates are similar to each other and there is no significant change. If iOS 7 was not fully changed by look, design etc.. It might lost its many customers. Android should not wait for coping they should be innovative and at that time iOS users will shift to Android.
I think android is awful. Never really being an iPhone or Android fanatic. I have after using both become a huge iOS supporter. It's so much easier to navigate through. Most maker of android devices choose to suffocate it with their own scheme hiding the real android behind layers of BS. So at this time I don not agree with your appraisal of iOS.
As soon as ios 7 came out and there was no jailbreak I switched to android and am not switching back. I'm rooted on the first day. I've had jailbroken apple products since the 3g, yet now JB is ever increasing in difficulty... I'll just get rid of apple and stay with always root able android.

Well done, I understand your point. The only thing is so do the developers, and while Android attracts the low end of buyers both in hardware and software, then developers arent going to be as attracted to this "free" market as they are to the paying market.
This is not to say that you should come back, you have to make your own decision. Personally I would wait out for the jailbreak as the apps available with IOS6 are still IMHO better than the range in Android. Plus I know at times with all systems, its going to be hard to be at the cutting edge at any one specific time, unless of course I could afford to update with each new model.
And if I could do that then a JB isnt really an issue.
I like the jailbreak as I can try before I buy. Yes I know there are trials, but many times I a need longer time to truly evaluate a program, and sometimes a better program comes out a few weeks/months later. When I commit I buy, so not having a JB will be a little frustrating, but it's not the end of the world.
Eric Schmidt is dreaming. The ecosystem of Apple is not perfect but best. After years of suffering abuse from various OS I moved to Apple and now can't even imagine letting it go. Issue is not just phone but the entire ecosystem which is seamless in Apple and yes the fact that Mac never crashes or is so easy to use. Microsoft and Samsung RIP.
I always use an android phone but no matter what I always end up switching back to and iPhone, since the release I've used and Htc one m7 on my second line and and iPhone 5 on my main (only because it is jailbroken and does everything android phones cannot), but after getting my 5S I found myself using it over wifi much more than my Htc one m7 altogether, so now I use and iPhone 5 and 5S on both lines and my Htc one m7 just sits on my desk. Android has a lot of potential to be great and useful, but as a smartphone OS it just doesn't do it for me (currently rooted running stock 4.2.2 google edition ROM). Obviously I've used iOS and Mac OS based product more over the years, but if I were a windows and android user in place of apple products I would say the exact opposite. The biggest argument over these mobile OS' is customization, android can do stuff out of the box and iOS can't, but then you can jailbreak and then you notice how truly limited android is compared. Honestly I can't really find anything done on android phones that hasn't been done first on jailbroken iOS. But then not very many people actually utilize a jailbreak when available as I do which is why I think people form the opinion android is more customizable that iOS. Put simply jailbroken iOS just does exactly what I want whereas android does not. Is this the case for everyone? F#ck no! It's only opinion based, not everyone thinks the same, not everyone knows how to utilize what's available when available. Android in my opinion is for those who are too lazy to figure out how to utilize iOS jailbroken (if customizing is your main reason for your choice of phone that is). But all in all, apple sh$t just works for me, that's what I like, that's what ill stick with. Android is still awesome, but just not for me, so its just a cool story instead.
