Photos have leaked of what is allegedly an iPhone 6 prototype.
The images were first posted to Twitter by @mornray886. Sonny Dickson, who has a track record of authentic leaks, has also been posting photos online. Apparently they were first leaked by someone in China who claimed that they show the 'iPhone 6'.
The device clearly has a larger display, a thinner profile, and a curved edge design more similar to the iPad. Current rumors have Apple releasing the iPhone 6 in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch configurations. MacRumors was able to estimate the width of the display at 2.6 inches compared to the iPhone 5s display which is 2.31-inches wide.
Although impossible to tell from these photos, the iPhone 6 is also rumored to feature a sapphire glass display. The stronger glass may compensate for its lighter frame and 'bezel-free' display.
While we can't confirm the validity of these images, they are in line with what's expected of Apple for the iPhone 6.
This is not confirmed as FAKE! The only thing that this confirms is that the fully assembled phone render is fake. I could see that before I found this article. The back plate is legit. The fake gold phone was done by someone after they got a hold of the back plate pics. Expect videos of the back plate next week. After that, tech sites will be buying them like the ipad air and mini back plates.
Fake for the following reasons:
The speaker grill holes are too large. Apple wouldn't use large holes where a kid can puncture the speaker with a needle. That would cause too many returns.
Cheap protective plastic. Whenever you order a cheap Chinese back cover for any phone, it always comes with this cheap plastic protection. Notice the air bubbles. Apple controls everything in the process to manufacture their phones.
Wow, thanks captain obvious pointing out what concept means. We haven't even heard the final look from apple yet, what else do you expect? It's a render from a fan.
You do know this isn't the design, just a unit that'll be used for testing and troubleshooting issues.
They do this every year, and we knew they were most likely coming out with 2 screen sizes next year.
