KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo estimates that Apple will only ship 3 million iWatch units in 2014 due to issues that have allegedly pushed back production to the second half of November.

In a note to investors, a copy of which was obtained by AppleInsider, Kuo of KGI Securities said he believes the market is expecting that Apple will ship between 5 million and 10 million "iWatch" units before the end of 2014. But he now expects that issues will push production of the device will be pushed back from September to the second half of November, resulting in fewer units available.

Kuo says that Apple may also have issues with sapphire glass production. He predicts that at least half of the iWatch units shipped will have regular glass covers.

As rumored, TPK is said to provide the touch module while the lamination of the touch module and AMOLED display will be performed by LG Display.

Finally, it's expected that the iWatch will launch in December and availability will be well below market expectations.
