Apple has announced that its iAd network now offers pre-roll video and full-screen interstitial banner ad formats.
Now you can deliver highly engaging ads from leading brands. Optimized for your app, pre-roll video and full-screen interstitial banner ads are now available on iOS. Learn how to integrate them into your app by reading Implementing iAd in Your iOS Apps.
Full-Screen Interstitial Banners: iAdInterstitialSuite allows an ad to be displayed as a page of content, and as a transitional screen between two sections of an app.
Pre-Roll Video Ads: The MPMoviePlayerController reference includes configuration details. Videos that are 15, 30 or 60 seconds in duration are supported.

Apple is doing something groundbreaking with iAd? Is it still 2010? On second thought, I guess this is not so groundbreaking in 2014. Apple is taking way too long to do for iAd what Airpush, Tapjoy, and Millennial Media have been doing for their own benefit and the benefit of developers and advertisers for YEARS now. Time to innovate again, Apple.
