YouTube member Satya Saya has posted a video of an amazingly long line up in Singapore for the iPhone 3GS. He was 10th in line and spent 12 hours waiting.
"The video shows to what lengths people can go to get a hand on the iPhone 3GS," Staya says. "This queue is 2 hours before the iPhone store closed, and it is quite likely that at least 20% of them would overnight in the queue. I guess the iPhone is worth the wait!"
Got mine on the Monday after the weekend launch period. I reserved a phone for that weekend and couldn't believe that people had to wait THAT long just to get the phone during those 3 days. Absolutely pathetic queue management and demand forecasting from our nation's 'number 1' telco, and only because you are basically run and ruled by our government... They could have launched it at their shops all across the country, but they refused to! What nincompoops. Utterly disappointed that Apple does not sign on the other telcos to sell iPhones in Singapore so that the competition will remove such extreme waste of people's time and energy, and also to sell more phones in Singapore. Singapore has laws against carrier-locking, so it's all unlocked iPhones. Apple, please wake up and start selling them through StarHub and M1 as well... Singtel is so pathetic.
Now see, it's ignorance like that is why the majority of them are the leading brains of this world. You limit yourself to stupid hate and ignorance! They aren't stupid, you are just more furtunite to have over 10,000 stores to choose from to get an iPhone. You probably bought it online. They couldn't. Shut up.
Well, duh. Singtel's HQ was the only place in the country people could get the iphone. Imagine all US customers queueing up at one AT&T outlet to get theirs, and you'd have the same effect.
