Early Unboxing of Apple's All-New 12-Inch Retina MacBook [Video]

Posted April 1, 2015 at 4:41pm by iClarified
Check out this early unboxing video of Apple's upcoming 12-Inch Retina MacBook Air. The video was posted by Tinhte.vn, a site which has accurately posted numerous Apple leaks in the past.

The new MacBook features a stunning 12-inch Retina display that is the thinnest ever on a Mac, an Apple-designed full-size keyboard which is dramatically thinner and highly responsive, the all-new Force Touch trackpad that brings a new dimension of interactivity to the Mac, an incredibly compact USB-C port for data transfer, video out and charging in a single connector, and a new battery design that maximizes every millimeter of space to deliver all-day battery life. And, for the first time, MacBook is available in three gorgeous aluminum finishes—gold, silver and space gray.

The video gives us a look at Apple's new USB-C charger and offers a sense of the notebook's size. Unfortunately, it's in Vietnamese but we won't have to wait long for an English version. The new MacBook will begin shipping Friday, April 10. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.

Yup. This brand new 2015 MacBook has same performance as $800(much cheaper now) 2011 MacBook Air. (http://www.macrumors.com/2015/04/01/retina-macbook-benchmark-performance/)

Funniest part is they even ditched their beloved thunderbolt 2 ports. So no USB, no thunderbolt 2, no MagSafe. If this is the way Apple is heading, next iPhone will be thinner and light but with "special" audio jack that requires extra adapter to plug in normal 3.5mm audio cable. Facepalm

That's why you go and buy MacBook Air or the pro if you need any of the other features

Looking sexy but why Apple. First you'll need to carry around "adapters" in order to access any normal USB or HDMI. And now Macbook Air is thicker than Regular MacBook? SMH. I dont get the purpose of the design. Yes it is thinner and lighter which means its easier to carry, In your hand. But not quite portable to carry in the bags since you need extra adapters. I rather bring my iPad.

If you think about it for a second, imagine a world with just usb-c ports. Imagine all the wiring it took to connect every port to another device. This need for extra adapters is all in one port now and don't need any more to connect, but what about charging your iDevice then? Get the ampy. Problem solved in every way. SMW! Not to mention who needs sd card when icloud backs data up to my computer from iphone? Plus my Airport Time Capsule saves me from losing what's stored on ere. If you wanted an sd card though, get a wireless hub that transfers stuff from ios and OS X to it wirelessly.
