Google Sends Out Press Invites to October 4th 'Pixel Phone' Event [Video]

Google has sent out press invite to an event on October 4th at which the company is expected to unveil a new Pixel phone.

Google also posted a teaser video and teaser site which appear to confirm those rumors. Both show the border of a search field morphing into the shape of a smartphone.



Back in June we heard reports that Google was planning to launch its own smartphone by the end of the year to better compete with Apple and Samsung. Unlike the Nexus phones, Google would take more control over design, manufacturing and software.
