Apple is reportedly preparing to release an iMovie update with Touch Bar support; as well as, a Final Cut Pro 10.3 update with improved audio mixing and a flatter interface.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman who has a good record on leaks, recently tweeted:
Improved audio mixing, slightly flatter interface tweaks. iMovie update too w/ support for the new MacBook Pro function row.
The tweet follows another from Richard Taylor who noticed that Apple was accidentally offering a FinalCutPro X 10.3 Trial Download despite that version not having been released.
The #FCPX trial now says 10.3 but doesn’t actually download the app yet.
It's possible that Apple plans to release the iMovie and Final Cut Pro X updates alongside new Macs. The company is rumored to be holding an event on October 27th to unveils its new computers.

Final Cut Pro has issues. Apple is always playing catch up. MBP will be a refresh, finally with updated specs. FCP finally gets audio editing back? No thanks. Premiere on an Nvidia enabled laptop is a better option.
