It appears as though the iPhone's Application Key has been found. All iPhone applications must be properly signed with this key for use through iTunes and for the iPhone to load them.
If this key has been found then hackers could build application bundles for home-brew iTunes distribution. The applications could be distributed through iTunes without Apple's permission.
The key has been posted on AustinHeap.com as well as on Zibri's blog. Zibri posts this as a "Major iPhone Breakthru".
UPDATE: Zibri is denying that the key posted is the Application key. He has posted on his blog to this effect; however, he has not shared what the key is for ! http://zibree.blogspot.com/2008/01/seda-give.html
I wonder how rumors run quickly and I am very disappointed by Erica Sadun of TUAW for telling people this was a key related to SDK or the "Application Key". Well.. i never said it. And, frankly, it's NOT :) I posted this only because I hate disinformation. Regards, Zibri.

Please read more carefully before posting accusingly. Note the question mark in the title. This was never a confirmed story, only a rumor. It has also been updated with Zibris response!

Zibri says this isn't the SDK key. Please stop spreading misinformation.
