ATC Pro is a realistic sim application that puts users in control of the flow of aircraft in and out of airports. Planes arrive from a map edge location, announced by an audio ding. It is up to the user to clear aircraft for takeoffs and guide each plane to its intended destination, which may be an airport or fly-over to another map edge. Any traffic coming into the simulated air traffic controller's airspace must also be landed safely.
All aspects of flight safety are up to the user. Once they get a plane in the sky at the right altitude, users can make any adjustments necessary for the flight's heading. Beginners are happy for the takeoff and landing tutorials that are included. The ATC Pro format differs from other air traffic simulation games. Many, if not most, use a normal radar interface. There is a scoring system for each of the included simulated scenarios listed below:

* Handle 20 aircraft landing and taking off
* Play Until Incident (crash or lost aircraft)
* Play 5 minute speed round
* Play 10 minute speed round
The app offers different maps with a choice of Detroit (DTW) or Chicago (ORD) airport locations and runway layouts. Zoom and pan features allow users to focus on a tricky landing and other situations that call for close attention.
