HarperCollins Publishers is reportedly in negotiations with Apple to bring e-books to its upcoming tablet device, according to WSJ sources.

HarperCollins is expected to set the prices of the e-books, which would have added features, with Apple taking a percentage of sales. Details haven't been ironed out.

It couldn't be learned whether Apple will sell the HarperCollins titles via a new e-book store or through its existing iTunes Store, which sells music, television shows and movies. Other publishers also have met with Apple, people familiar with the matter said. Apple declined to comment.

It is thought that these enhanced e-books could command a higher price than the typical $9.99 cost of new best sellers. A person familiar with the situation suggested the new e-books could sell for between $14.99 and $19.99.

Other publishers are preparing to launch on the tablet as well. Take a look at some demos from:
- Conde Nast (Wired)
- Bonnier (Popular Science)
- CourseSmart
- Time Inc. (Sports Illustrated)

Apple is expected to unveil the tablet at a "come see our latest creation" event which was just announced and will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco at 10AM Pacific Time.
