Dont see a reason? I can give you a few off the top of my head! Save money by not having to buy paper and ink. Go "Green". and to stop living in the past!

You got it wrong mate. They were talking about paying apple 30% of the profit of each book, and setting the price the way they want it which is apple's plan, as opposed to amazon's plan which is buying the license for a book and setting the prices themselves. Both are talking about ebooks, so paper isn't really an issue here. ^^
Both models make sense to me, but I know nothing about finance or the publishing industry so I'm not gonna comment on if it's good or bad.
