Apple's A16 Bionic chip destined for the iPhone 14 Pro will still use TSMC's 5nm process but the company's upcoming M2 chip for Mac will use TSMC's new 3nm process, according to leaker ShrimpApplePro.

In a thread on Twitter, the leaker says Apple's A16 Bionic will feature a slightly better CPU, LPDDR5 RAM, and a better GPU.

From a fairly reliable source, but take this one with a big grain of MSG.
A16 Bionic will continue to use 5nm from TSMC N5P. From the list I received from source “TSMCFF5”
Upgrades are slightly better CPU, LPDDR5 RAM and better GPU.

No 4nm. If you haven't known, Samsung and TSMC 4nm are just 5nm with a bit of salt and pepper... make sense when we heard so much about the rebrand A15 but not A16.
The list also have “TSMCFF7”, which is A13 bionic.

Notably, ShrimpApplePro says the final M1 chip will come with updated 'Avalanche' and 'Blizzard' cores and the M2 chip will be Apple's first ARMv9 processor.

The next M series, M2 will have 3nm process “TSMCFF3”
First Apple’s custom ARMv9 processor.
Final SoC of M1 series, M1X(?) will come with updated core "Avalanche" and "Blizzard"

This new M1X chip could be destined for the much rumored update to the Mac Pro. We're hopeful we could see this arrive as early as WWDC 2022 next month; however, there have been reports that it may not arrive until next year.
