Apple is experiencing major shortages of the iPhone 14 going into Black Friday and the holiday season, according to Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives. These shortages are accelerating at many retailers with low inventories seen across the board today.

We believe many Apple Stores now have iPhone 14 Pro shortages based on model/color/storage of up to 25%-30% below normal heading into a typical December, which is not a good sign heading into holiday season for Cupertino. The zero China Covid policy has been an absolute body blow to Apple's supply chain with the Foxconn protests in Zhengzhou a black eye for both Apple and Foxconn. The reality is that Apple is extremely limited in their options for holiday season and are at the mercy of China's zero Covid policy which remains a very frustrating situation for Apple as well as the Street. Wait times through the Apple website are now up to 40 days for a new iPhone 14 Pro and going into early January which will only grow over the coming weeks as more consumers try to find iPhones Pro for Christmas.

Ives expects Apple to sell 8 million iPhones this weekend, leading to further shortages for Christmas. The analyst estimates a 5% reduction in iPhone 14 supply due to production slowdowns; however, further lockdowns at the factory could make matters worse.

Yesterday, the BBC reported Zhengzhou was back under lockdown. Additionally, Foxconn has seen recent worker protests over its quarantine policies and compensation. The company claims these protests have not affected production.
