Apple Releases First Public Beta of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 [Download]

Apple has released the first public beta of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 to users for testing.

iOS beta gives you an early preview of upcoming apps, features, and technologies. Please back up your iPhone before you install the beta.

The developer beta released to developers this week reintroduces notification summaries for news apps and tweaks the appearance of Liquid Glass. Previous developer betas introduced numerous changes including improvements to control center, a new ringtone, responsive wallpaper, and more.

After signing up for the Apple beta program, you can visit the Settings > General > Software Update page and choose iOS 26 Public Beta from the Beta Updates row to install this update. We still recommend installing it on a device dedicated to development.
