A new leak today offers another look at cases said to be for Apple's upcoming iPhone 17, showing a design with two distinct holes along the bottom edge. The images follow earlier reports that Apple is preparing a new case material and a crossbody strap accessory for this fall's lineup.
The photos were shared by leaker Majin Bu, who previously reported that the cases would include two lanyard holes to support a new crossbody strap. The strap is said to use a magnetic system with a flexible metal core, letting it attach and detach without traditional hooks.
Apple is expected to move away from its heavily criticized FineWoven material this year. Reports suggest a new synthetic fabric with a more durable, non-slip texture, possibly branded as 'TechWoven.' The strap accessory may be made from a similar woven nylon, with a silicone version also rumored.
The crossbody strap is said to already be in production and may launch in a range of colors this September alongside the iPhone 17. It could also work with other devices, including the rumored AirPods Pro 3.
