iOS 26.1 Beta Adds New Languages for AirPods Live Translation and Apple Intelligence

Following today's release of the first iOS 26.1 beta, Apple has delivered on its promise to expand language support for some of its newest features. The update brings a host of new languages to both Apple Intelligence and the AirPods Live Translation feature, which launched last week.

With iOS 26.1, AirPods Live Translation gains support for five new languages: Chinese (Mandarin, simplified), Chinese (Mandarin, traditional), Italian, Japanese, and Korean. These additions join the existing list of English, French, German, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish that were available at the launch of the AirPods Pro 3.

The broader Apple Intelligence feature set is also rolling out to more users with support for eight additional languages. The list now includes Chinese (traditional), Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Turkish, and Vietnamese.


The first beta of iOS 26.1 is now available for developers to download. Apple is expected to release the software update to the public later this fall. AirPods Pro 3 are now available to order.
