Apple Stops Signing iOS 18.6.2, Preventing Downgrades From iOS 26

Apple has stopped signing iOS 18.6.2, which, combined with iOS 18.7 being an OTA-only update, means users can no longer downgrade from iOS 26 to any version of iOS 18.

Currently, Apple's latest firmware is iOS 26. With the signing window for iOS 18.6.2 now closed, and iOS 18.7 only available as an Over-the-Air update without a full IPSW file, anyone who has updated to iOS 26 will find themselves unable to revert to an earlier major operating system. The company released iOS 18.6.2 in late August with important security fixes. Developers have already been seeded with the first beta of iOS 26.1.
