9thDan.com has announced the release of its martial arts pressure points app series, Martial Points, for the iPhone. Pressure points are commonly used in acupuncture as well as in martial arts and self defense. There are a number of acupuncture related pressure points apps in the market, but none was focused specifically for martial arts use until 9thDan.com's release of Martial Points.

Martial Points allows user to easily locate major pressure points (acupoints) commonly used in martial arts. Points are selected from either an anatomically accurate 3D human model or from the glossary list. The application provides vital information about each point and the possible effects of the point when struck.

One unique feature of Martial Points is the inclusion of the audio pronunciation of each point's name in its original Asian language. For example, in the Korean version, simply tap the speaker icon and user will hear the point's Korean name spoken by a native Korean speaker. This is a great feature for those studying a particular style of Asian martial arts.

In the Korean version, each pressure point includes the following information:
* Acupoint code
* English name
* Korean and Chinese names (character)
* Korean pronunciation (audio) by native speaker
* Meridian name
* Pressure point category
* Possible effects when struck

Martial Points is currently available in two versions. The Korean version provides the point's name pronunciation in Korean, while a Chinese version provides the Mandarin pronunciation.

Pricing and Availability:
Martial Points 1.0.2 is $3.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Medical category. While Martial Points is designed for the iPhone and iPod touch, its high quality graphics allow the app to scale up quite nicely for the iPad as well.
