Apple has seeded a new developer beta firmware for its current AirPods lineup. The update carries build number 8B5034f and is now available for AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2, and AirPods 4.
It arrives shortly after Apple pushed out firmware 8B34 to the public for AirPods Pro 3. As usual, Apple hasn't shared detailed notes for the beta. Still, the timing stands out. Code uncovered in December pointed to several features planned for spring 2026, including Visual Lookup integration and improved outdoor location awareness. Whether any of that is active in this build isn't clear yet.
For iPhones and iPads running iOS 26 beta or later, connect your AirPods to your device, open Settings > Bluetooth, and tap the (i) next to your AirPods. On the AirPods settings screen, scroll down to "AirPods Beta Updates" and turn on the toggle to receive beta firmware.
