Apple has updated its developer support page with new adoption statistics, revealing that iOS 26 is now installed on 74 percent of iPhones introduced in the last four years. Apple hasn't shared updated install figures since the public release last September.
According to App Store metrics measured on February 12, 2026, adoption across all active iPhones has reached 66 percent. Twenty-four percent of devices remain on iOS 18, while 10 percent are running an earlier version.
iPad adoption is slightly lower. Apple says 66 percent of iPads introduced in the last four years are running iPadOS 26. Across all active iPads, 57 percent are on the latest software, with 26 percent still on iPadOS 18 and 17 percent running older versions.
For comparison, Apple reported in January 2025 that iOS 18 adoption had reached 68 percent across all devices and 76 percent on iPhones introduced in the prior four years. Even with the new Liquid Glass design language, adoption is tracking slightly below the pace set by iOS 18 at a similar point last year.
Apple also released iOS 26.3 earlier this week, adding a native transfer tool for migrating data to Android and enabling Notification Forwarding for wearables in the EU.
